Second Saturday Torah Study
August 12, 2017 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm
The Second Saturday Torah Study this month is at the home of Aviva and Yehudah Plaut in Kealakekua. The parashah is Eikev (Deuteronomy 7:12-11:25) in which Moses continues his farewell address to the Israelites as they prepare to enter the “promised land–a land that can flow with milk and honey.” He recounts events of the 40 years of wandering and reminds all to “keep the commandments for your own good.” The parashah also includes the “V’ahavta” passage we recite along with the Shema. Study begins at 10:30AM, ends around noon and is followed by a potluck lunch (no pork or shellfish, please!).
The study is group-led and no knowledge of Hebrew or previous study is necessary. Please bring your own tanach or print out a copy of the week’s parashah from one of the many versions available online. No one version is preferred and a variety adds to interesting discussion.
We look forward to seeing you at Saturday Torah Study to deepen understanding of our Book and its relevance to our Judaism.
