Aloha & L’shanah tovah KBS members and friends,

We invite you to be with us welcoming a New Year – 5783 on the Hebrew calendar.

Rabbi Daniel Pressman, formerly of Congregation Beth David in Saratoga, California, will lead our services along with Rabbi Shari Berman as cantor.

We will meet in-person for Rosh Hashanah September 25 & 26 at Hawaiian Queen Coffee Garden in Kona, with a second day gathering on September 27 at the Plaut’s home in Kealakekua. Yom Kippur begins with Kol Nidre the evening of October 4 and continues all day October 5 at Hawaiian Queen Coffee Garden; and there will be several other services and gatherings during the Days of Awe including Shabbat Shuvah and Tashlich. A full schedule will be posted on the KBS website and also will be sent to the congregation email list. If you are unable to attend in-person, the services will be live-streamed on Zoom and the KBS Facebook Page.

We will be observing COVID-19 safety protocols at all in-person services and ask that everyone attending be fully vaccinated and boosted. Masks are optional, but highly recommended.

High Holiday seats are included with all KBS memberships. We ask non-members to make a donation of $36 per holiday. No one will be denied entry for inability to pay. Please contact KBS treasurer Michael Bernstone with any questions: mbernstone@hawaii.rr.com.

To join KBS or renew your membership, or to purchase non-member seats, please fill in the online form at this link and follow the instructions to make your payment via Paypal/credit card or by mailing a check.

We look forward to having you with us to observe these holiest days of the year with prayer, song and community … and we wish all a happy and healthy 5783.
