We hope you are finding joy and inspiration during this high holiday season.
Our Rosh Hashanah services at KBS, led by Rabbi Daniel Lev, were perfect in so many ways: lots of music and singing, thoughtful readings, awesome shofar blowing as well as many of the traditional pieces that we cherish at this time of year.
We have several more opportunities for you to share our time with Rabbi Lev, who returns this weekend along with his lovely wife Margy.
Friday, Oct 7th, 5pm – meet at Holoholokai Beach Park for a tashlich service, where we symbolically toss our transgressions into the ocean. Then at 6pm join us at our home in the Shops at Mauna Lani for a brief erev shabbat service, potluck (*NO pork or shellfish*) and lots of singing.
Saturday October 8th, 10:30 am – celebrate a shabbat Shuvah service at the home of Aviva and Yehudi Plaut (81-6640 Aolani Pl Kealakekua 96750) followed by a potluck lunch (*NO pork or shellfish*). NOTE: this is “Ironman” World Championship race day, so be sure to check for road closures as you plan your route.
Sunday afternoon October 9 Rabbi Lev has a few slots available for Rabbinic counseling. Please let me know if you would like to meet with him.
Tuesday October 11 & Wednesday October 12 – Yom Kippur services are at our home in the Shops at Mauna Lani. If you have not joined the congregation – and of course we hope you will – please click here to do so or to purchase tickets.
October 11, 6pm – Kol Nidre
October 12, 10am – Yom Kippur Services; 4pm Yizkor; 5pm Neilah followed by Break the Fast potluck (*NO pork or shellfish*).
