SHABBAT

KBS holds Shabbat Services on the fourth Saturday morning of each month beginning at 10:30 am, at the Hawaiian Queen Coffee Gardens in Kona, followed by kiddush and potluck. Visitors are always welcome.

JEWISH HOLIDAYS AND FESTIVALS

The observance and celebration of Jewish holidays is scheduled throughout the year. A Newsletter is published just before the High Holidays with details about the services conducted by a visiting rabbi.  Services include Rosh HaShana eve, Rosh HaShana morning, Shabbat Tshuvah, Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur.  Please use the Membership Application to sign up for these holidays.

A highlight of our SIMCHAT TORAH celebration is dancing with Torah. We unroll our ancient, historic scroll in its entirety for all to see.
We celebrate CHANUKAH with a grand family party. We retell the ancient story with menorahs galore, dreydles and latkes. Guests dance and sing to music performed by Kona’s Traveling Jewish Wedding Band.

The COMMUNITY PASSOVER SEDER is a relaxed event that features delicious traditional food. The Four Questions are asked in many languages, depending on where guests are from. We finish with the aphikomen, always discovered by a child.

Other holiday celebrations are announced by e-mail, and are listed in the calendar
