Shabbat B’ha’alot’cha Service
June 22, 2024 @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm
KBS invites you to our monthly Shabbat service Saturday, June 22, led by Aviva Plaut, who will be joined by Rabbi Shari Joy Berman and Vic Greenspan for readings from Parashah B’ha’alot’cha – בְּהַעֲלֹתְךָ (Bamidbar/Numbers 8:1-12:16) – in which the Levite responsibilities in the Mishkan (Tabernacle) are enumerated. Then, the people kvetch to Moses about the lack of meat (they get meat, but with a side dish of plague!). And, after gossiping with Aaron about Moses’ wife being “different,” Miriam is afflicted with a skin disease, but Moses pleads on her behalf and she is cured.
Afterward, stay for a “Kiddush and Kibbitz” potluck. If you can, bring a dish to share (but no meat or shellfish, please).
We hope you can join with us for this Shabbat. However, if you are not feeling well, or are otherwise unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed via Zoom and the KBS Facebook page. Connection information will be provided by email.
