Shabbat Parah Service
March 30 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm
Shabbat Parah – the Shabbat of the Red Heifer
The service – in person and on Zoom – will include readings from Parashah Tzav (Vayikra/Leviticus 6:1–8:36), in which God provides many more rules for the sacrifices to offered by the Kohanim (priests) on behalf of the people and Aaron and his sons are consecrated into their priestly roles. Traditionally, Shabbat Parah also includes a reading from Bamidbar/Numbers 19 describing the Temple ceremony of the “red heifer” to help the kohanim and the people purify themselves in preparation for the upcoming Passover holiday.
Afterward, stay for a “Kiddush and Kibbitz” potluck. If you can, bring a dish to share (but no meat or shellfish, please).
We hope you can join with us for this Shabbat. However, if you are not feeling well, or are otherwise unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed via Zoom and the KBS Facebook page. Connection information will be provided by email.
