Shabbat Service – Ridley Murray Bat Mitzvah

KBS and parents Rachel Silverman & Jason Murray invite you to share their joy as Ridley is called to the Torah for the first time as a Bat Mitzvah.
Aviva Plaut will lead the service on 7/20, with readings from parashah Balak – בָּלָק – Bamidbar/Numbers 22:2-25:9 , source of the Mah Tovu – מַה טֹּבוּ – that we chant each Shabbat: the blessing pronounced by the prophet Balaam, who had been sent by the king, Balak, to curse the Israelites. And it also includes a talking donkey.
Ridley will deliver a d’var Torah on themes in the parashah that she and other young people could relate to.
The family is sponsoring a kiddush luncheon after the service.
The service will also by live-streamed via Zoom and on the KBS Facebook page.
