Shabbat Service – Va-eira – with guest Priscilla Kostiner
January 25 @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm
“The Water is Turned Into Blood” (c.1896) – Jacques “James” Tissot (France/England) 1836-1902
In this week’s Torah portion, Va-eira/וָאֵרָא ( Sh’mot/Exodus 6:2-9:35), Moses and Aaron follow God’s instructions and the Plagues afflict Egypt, but still Pharaoh refuses to let our people go. Our Shabbat service will include readings from the parashah and a d’rash by R. Shari Berman along with insight from Priscilla Kostiner, lay leader visiting from Portland, Oregon. We will also look forward to the upcoming International Holocaust Remembrance day (Jan. 27).
After the service, stay for a Kiddush & Kibbitz potluck. If you can, please bring a dish to share (but no meat or shellfish).
If you are not feeling well or otherwise unable to attend in person, the service will also be live-streamed via Zoom and on the KBS Facebook page. Zoom connection information will be provided via email.
