Shabbat Service – Visiting Rabbi Rebecca Epstein

Our monthly Shabbat service is moved up one week to the third Saturday – June 21 – so we can welcome Rabbi Rebecca Epstein and her family, visiting Hawai`i Island from another coastal community: the Long Island town of Rockaway, New York, where R. Rebecca leads The West End Temple. The service, at the New Thought Center Hawai`i in Kealakekua, will include readings from and discussion of parashah Sh’lach-L’cha/שְׁלַח־לְךָ (B’midbar/Numbers 13:1-15:41), which tells the story of Israelite spies sent to check out the Promised Land. We will also be celebrating the wedding anniversary of longtime KBS members Jan Rae and Joel Gimpel. The service will also be live-streamed via Zoom for those unable to attend in person. Afterward, stay for our Kiddush & Kibbitz pot-luck. If you are able, bring a dish to share (no meat or shellfish, please).
