Shabbat Re’eh Service in Person and on Zoom

August 27, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Aviva Plaut leads KBS Shabbat services this month at Hawaiian Queen Coffee Garden in Kona and those unable to attend in person can connect and follow the service via Zoom. Aviva and Reb. Shari Berman will read from this week’s parashah – Re’eh ( רְאֵה – “see” ), D’varim/Deuteronomy 11:26−16:17, in which the Israelites are taught – and told to teach their children – that blessings will come through the observance of God’s laws: laws about worship, against idolatry and self-mutilation, the dietary rules of kashruth and various codes of tithes, debts, the treatment of slaves and ceremonies associated with the “pilgrim” festivals – Pesach, Sukkot, and Shavuot.

We ask that all those attending in-person be fully vaccinated (or have a current negative COVID-19 test) and masks are strongly urged during the service. If you are unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed via Zoom and on the KBS Facebook page.

After services there will be a light potluck lunch. If you can, please bring a dish to share (no pork or shellfish!). Zoom connection information will be provided via the KBS email list. If you are not already receiving congregation emails, please sign up at this link.
