Shabbat Shirah Service

Shabbat Shirah – the Shabbat of Song.
Aviva Plaut leads the service along with Priscilla Kostiner, visiting from Portland, Oregon Congregation Neveh Shalom, where she is a lay leader. Rabbi Shari Berman will join them reading from Parashah B’shalach (Sh’mot/Exodus 13:17-17:16), which retells the dramatic crossing of the 
sea by the newly-freed Israelites and includes Miriam’s joyous “Song of the Sea,” giving Shabbat Shirah its name.
This is also International Holocaust Remembrance Day and Aviva will give a d’rash on the commemoration in this perilous time.
Afterward, stay for a “Kiddush and Kibbitz” potluck. If you can, bring a dish to share (but no meat or shellfish, please).
