Shabbat Sh’lach L’cha Service in-person and on Zoom

June 25, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm

Rabbi Shari Berman leads Shabbat services this Saturday. She will be on Zoom from her home in Japan, with Barry Blum and Vic Greenspan co-leading the in-person congregation at Hawaiian Queen Coffee Garden in Kona.
The service includes readings from parashah, Sh’lach L’cha ( שְׁלַח-לְךָ — “send [for yourself]”), Bamidbar/Numbers 13:1−15:41, in which Moses sends “spies” to scout the Promised Land. They return with proof that “it does indeed flow with milk and honey” …but also with tales of fearsome giants that frighten the Israelites. Rabbi Shari will speak about the lessons in the parashah and also reflect on her ordination ceremony, held this past weekend.

We ask that all those attending in-person must be fully vaccinated (or have a current negative COVID-19 test) and masks are strongly urged during the service. If you are unable to attend, the service will be live-streamed via Zoom and on the KBS Facebook page.

After services there will be a light potluck lunch. If you are able, please bring a dish to share (no pork or shellfish).
