May 2 @ 10:00 am - 1:30 pm

Emor / אֱמֹר (“say”) Vayikra/Leviticus 21:1-24:23, opens with laws regulating priestly behavior, working in the Mishkan (Tabernacle), and consuming sacrifices and priestly food. It enumerates the biblical holidays of Passover, Shavuot, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot, and includes the “omer offering” – the instruction to “bring in the sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest.” The parashah ends with a story about a blasphemer and his punishment.
We’ll read and discuss parashah Emor. No prior knowledge is necessary and we welcome a wide range of viewpoints.
