Shabbat Bo Service and Creative Writing Workshop
Aviva Plaut & Una Greenaway will lead this month’s service which will include readings from parashah Bo by Rabbi Shari Joy Berman. Aviva will deliver a d’rash inspired by themes in the Torah portion – a dramatic chapter that includes the last of the Ten Plagues inflicted upon the Egyptians before Pharaoh agrees to let the Israelites go.
Following services, enjoy our Kiddush & Kibbutz potluck. If you are able, please bring a dish to share (but no pork or shellfish!).
Afterward, all are invited to take part in a gentle, heart-centered creative writing workshop with Dr. Heather Friedman Rivera.
This one-hour gathering offers space to slow down and explore writing as a tool for reflection and healing. Through guided prompts, imagery, and quiet reflection, participants will be invited to reconnect with their creative voice—no prior writing experience needed.
Sharing is always optional. The focus is not on “good writing,” but on presence, curiosity, and listening to what wants to emerge.
Whether you’ve always wanted to write or are simply drawn to the power of words, we hope you’ll stay after services and join us.
