Shabbat Service & Trio Sefardi Concert

Join us for Shabbat services, followed by a kiddush and potluck lunch. Then stay for a free concert by Trio Sefardi at 1:30PM.
Founded in 2010, Trio Sefardi brings together Susan Gaeta, Tina Chancey, and Howard Bass, three musicians united by their love of the traditional music of the Sephardim, the descendants of Jews expelled from Spain in 1492. Drawing on their backgrounds in jazz, folk, and early music, they celebrate Sephardic traditions from the former Yugoslavia, Greece, Bulgaria, Turkey, and North Africa, with special emphasis on songs they learned from the legendary singer and composer Flory Jagoda.
The trio has performed at synagogues, festivals, and major venues, including the Kennedy Center and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. This will be their inaugural concert tour in Hawai`i.
